Quarter end. It’s war. We’re fighting time and technical mishaps. Really exposes how important working as functional units within a nimble, integrated army is. Everyone has to communicate, everyone has to be onboard with the battle plan, everyone must be proactive to cover each other and help each other to make the deadlines. It’s not unrelated to team philosophy in sports. There’s no room for insubordination or worrying about the person next to you, if they’re going to hurt you, if they’re going to do what they’re supposed to, if they will uphold their responsibility. When money and reputation are on the line, this is as serious as it gets. There is no room to question whether the team is there for you or if you’re there for the team. If you go into battle with doubts about anyone, you’re all dead.

It’s all falling into place…Seattle.

Yeah, I hate walking out into the inside of a microwave. I was in San Antonio last week. Caught out in a thunderstorm. Amazing. What’s your favorite season? Mine’s easily fall. The rain, the smell, it’s when I feel most myself.

I’m from Fremont, went to Michigan. So why MI from CA? Because if I did 4 more years of high school at Berkeley, I woulda probably killed myself. Ann Arbor is an amazing town.

Last month I met someone around your age who went to UC Irvine. He told me the most fascinating story about how his frat started a male escort service, and how it was the most exhilarating and most terrifying thing he’d been through.

So…were you in a frat?

Irvine’s a great town. I have family there. The most devout Lakers fans I know. You don’t know what tolerance is until you’re a Warriors fan forced to love a Lakers fan. Absolute sainthood.

Today I got a call from someone willing to pay 10k for me to play basketball. I have finally fulfilled my family’s dream of getting paid to play…HORSE. I did it y’all. Go AMAX.

Some things can exist side by side. Some can’t. Like certain perspectives.

You can’t be a producer and director. You can’t be a thinker and doer. You can’t be in more than one world at once and still be you. You can’t choose for them.

It’s about making decisions.

I’m editing my friend Sarah’s novel right now–it’s a time-bending children’s fantasy. She has a Virgil-like creature in there called a midgi.

Today we had basketball practice with my brother Jason and he kept calling a play that sounded like “midgi.”

Blue flames are rare. And while some burn hot, others burn cold.

Mine burns hot. Hers burns cold.

The Oracle is concerned. This is unprecedented, so the future has not recorded it.

This could be good or this could be bad; with this type of energy there is no middle.
